Superconductor is niobium–titanium (NbTi) filament in a copper matrix, the conductor wound into MRI and particle-accelerator magnets. Cut across the wire, it shows a silver filament pattern set in copper.
Full slices are large cross cuts with a regular filament pattern across the whole face. In the larger grades that makes full knife scales possible, which is rare in this material. The filaments run through the full thickness, so the pattern stays regular and clean as you contour the handle.
Partial slices come from the same stock, sized for bolsters, inlays, pocket clip accents and jewellery. Each partial is photographed individually, front and back, on a cutting grid for scale.
Filament grades run from Nano (finest) to XL (largest).
