Superconductor - Partial - Medium Filament

Partial Medium filament slice of superconductor: niobium–titanium (NbTi) filaments in a copper matrix, cut from the same stock as our full slices.

Clearly defined individual filaments in an even grid.

Pieces range from small inlay offcuts to larger sections for bolsters, pocket clip accents and jewellery. Each option is one specific piece: select by weight and thickness. The piece number matches its photo, taken front and back on a cutting grid for scale.

Maker's notes

• The silver-and-copper contrast is in the metal itself. No etching is needed.
• Copper loads abrasives quickly. Use fresh belts and light pressure.
• The slice conducts heat well and gets hot fast while grinding. Work in short passes and let it cool.
• Bare copper develops a patina with handling. Let it age, or seal it to keep the bright finish.
