Superconductor - Full - Nano Filament

Full Nano filament slice of superconductor: niobium–titanium (NbTi) filaments in a copper matrix.

The finest filament grade we carry. At arm's length the filaments read as a fine silver texture framed in copper. A full cross cut with a regular pattern across the whole face. The filaments run through the full thickness, so the pattern stays regular and clean as you contour the handle.

Sized for bolsters, inlays, smaller scales and jewellery.

Spec: Approx. 54–58 g, 0.110 in thick. The photo shows a representative slice from this grade, on a cutting grid for scale.

Maker's notes

• The silver-and-copper contrast is in the metal itself. No etching is needed.
• Copper loads abrasives quickly. Use fresh belts and light pressure.
• The slice conducts heat well and gets hot fast while grinding. Work in short passes and let it cool.
• Bare copper develops a patina with handling. Let it age, or seal it to keep the bright finish.
