Superconductor - Partial - Medium-Fine Filament

Partial Medium-Fine filament slice of superconductor: niobium–titanium (NbTi) filaments in a copper matrix, cut from the same stock as our full slices.

Medium-small filaments: individually visible up close, even texture at a distance.

Pieces range from small inlay offcuts to larger sections for bolsters, pocket clip accents and jewellery. Each option is one specific piece: select by weight and thickness. The piece number matches its photo, taken front and back on a cutting grid for scale.

Maker's notes

• The silver-and-copper contrast is in the metal itself. No etching is needed.
• Copper loads abrasives quickly. Use fresh belts and light pressure.
• The slice conducts heat well and gets hot fast while grinding. Work in short passes and let it cool.
• Bare copper develops a patina with handling. Let it age, or seal it to keep the bright finish.
